In the morning, visit the Likir monastery and start mounting up to the Pobe-La pass (3600 m) before going down to the village of Sumdo. Afterwards, mount up to the Charatse-La pass (3650 m) before going down to the Yangtang village. Today, you begin your climb on a gentle slope to the Tsermangchan La Pass at 3870m that you see from the village. Get mesmerized by the breathtaking panorama of the vastness of rock around you. At the mere sound of multicolored prayer flags fluttering in the wind, you enjoy this moment of great tranquility. You then descend to the charming Hemis Shukpachan Village (3630m), whose name comes from the cedar bark or Shukpa, which are used to make incense. As you enter the village, you come across a row of ancient chortens (Buddhist stupas) and manis, the stone walls on which mantras or religious sayings are engraved. You start your trek and a steep climb allows you to cross the Meptak La Pass at 3880m in a lunar-like and mineral landscape. Get amazed by the rocks with its ocher hues. You then descend to the Dangdong Tokpo valley and Ang village with its apricot orchards. Finally, you reach Temisgam, dominated by the ruins of its fortress and its monastery. After an exquisite breakfast, you walk across the fields to the charming village of Tea with its narrow streets, old houses and stone chortens. The welcoming villagers will surely invite you for a pink Ladakhi butter tea, a specialty of the region. You continue in this mystical universe and cross a small bridge over the steam. Then you climb a rocky zigzag path to reach Temong La pass at 3900m and Cham La at 4030m, the highest pass of your trek in Ladakh.
